Friction stir welding is a highly beneficial joining process in engineering.

A process step might include welding two half-spherical elements into a geometry with a remaining void; or joining extremely thin sheets with a material thickness of less than 2 mm.
The non-invasive technique even facilitates the joining of semi-mounted parts! As there are neither sparks nor fumes, all valves and circumjacent components are safe from damage.

In addition, the material in the welding zone retains the properties of the base material. This is why welded components can be further processed without any issue, and can even be bent, shaped and formed in the welded joint line.
Friction stir welding is a fast and simple joining technique that is suitable for even complex components in the engineering sector!
